Save your photos before they erase
We warn you: save your photos before they are deleted from the Google service, which will be discontinued from July of that same year.
The Google company service that will cease to exist is the Album Archive, in which the images used by users in other services of the same company are stored.
Through the Album Archive, it is possible to find, for example:
- Blogger Media;
- Profile pictures;
- Hangouts attachments;
- And others.
discontinuation of service
Google has announced to users that, as of July 19, 2023, the Album Archive will no longer be continued by the company.
Thus, until that date, users will be able to download the media they want, and save them in another location.
The company is sending this notice to users via email, in addition to advising them to save everything before definitive exclusion.
To download such media, the user can access the Google Takeout.
Other ways to save content
Another possibility to save the contents of the Album Archive is to enter each service individually and thus download the media. To do so, access the following services:
- blogger: to save published images;
- google account: to save profile pictures;
- Google Photos: to save photo albums;
- Hangouts: To save attachments sent by Hangouts.
We remind you that the Hangouts service has already been replaced by Chat, so it is possible that some media will be available through this new service.
The images used by the user to personalize his Gmail are also stored in the Album Archive.
It is important to say that it is not Google Photos that will be discontinued, much less the photos in this service will be deleted.
Only the Album Archive service, which was associated with Picasa, will cease to exist.
