What is the PIS/Pasep fund?
The PIS/Pasep Fund, which was unified in 1975 by Complementary Law No. 26, has the main objective of raising funds that contribute to the well-being of salaried workers in the public and private sectors.

Although the PIS/Pasep kept the same name, the collected amount is, nowadays, stored in the FAT (Worker Support Fund), the body responsible for managing the social benefits of the Seguro-Desemprego and Abono Salarial.

PIS stands for Social Integration Program, a fund created by Complementary Law No. 7/1970. At the time of its creation, the program integrated private sector employees with the company development.
Through the PIS benefit, the worker of a private sector company has the right to receive certain benefits and can collaborate for the development of companies in that sector.
The payment of PIS is made by the Caixa Econômica Federal.
PASEP
Parallel to the PIS, the Civil Servant Asset Formation Program, Pasep, was created through Complementary Law No. 8/1970.
At the time, the Union, States, Municipalities, Federal District and territories contributed to the fund, which was intended for public sector workers. (public servants).
Payment of PASEP is carried out by the Bank of Brazil.?
Who can receive PIS/Pasep 2022?
Employees who belong to the public or private sector, are entitled to receive the PIS/Pasep benefit in 2022, provided they meet the following requirements:
- Be registered for at least 5 years;
- Have an employment contract for at least 30 days in the base year (for 2022 the base year is 2020);
- Having received an average of up to 2 minimum wages during this period.
