PIS/Pasep 2022 Calendar

The PIS/Pasep fund was unified on September 11, 1975, by Complementary Law No. 26. The Law unified the funds PIS (Social Integration Program) and Pasep (Public Servant Asset Formation Program).

This Law is currently governed by Decree No. 4,751 of June 17, 2003.

Until 04/10/1988, employers made financial contributions through PIS/Pasep, which were then distributed to workers through quotas proportional to salary and length of service.

After 1988, PIS/Pasep no longer received individual contributions, which was changed by art. 239 of the Federal Constitution, changing the storage destination of the contributions.

The amount collected by PIS/Pasep started to be stored by the FAT (Worker Support Fund), body that manages the social benefits of the Unemployment Insurance and Salary Bonus.

Who is eligible to receive PIS/Pasep?

The PIS/Pasep benefit is intended for salaried workers of the public and private sectors. In addition, these workers must meet the following requirements:

• Be registered for at least 5 years;
• Have an employment contract for at least 30 days in the base year (for 2022 the base year is 2020);
• Have received an average of up to 2 minimum wages during the period.

Calendar for payment of PIS/Pasep 2022

Payment of the PIS/Pasep in 2022 for salaried workers in the private sector is the responsibility of the Caixa Econômica Federal. The payment of PIS/Pasep for public sector workers is carried out through the Bank of Brazil.
